Step by step

You will practise: place your chatbot in the correct EU AI Act risk tier; apply a 20-point checklist covering transparency, fairness, privacy and accountability; write a practical plan to fix the 3 most important gaps.

1Set the scope10 min
2Checklist points 1–10: transparency and fairness20 min
3Checklist points 11–20: privacy and accountability15 min
4Choose 3 gaps and write your plan15 min
!Tips and safety
  • Transparency rules under Art. 50 of the EU AI Act apply from 2 August 2026
  • Finding gaps is the goal: an audit with no gaps usually means it wasn't thorough
  • For bias tests, change only one detail (e.g. a name) and compare the answers
?Reflection questions (answer them when you submit)
  1. Which gap surprised you most, and why had you missed it?
  2. Which of the four themes was your bot strongest in, and which weakest?
  3. How would your audit change if the bot made decisions about refunds or loans?
  4. What will you check first the next time you build an AI tool?
✓How your work is assessed
  • All 20 points are marked Yes / Partly / No with short, honest evidence
  • The chatbot is placed in the correct risk tier with a clear reason
  • Three real gaps are identified and linked to a theme or legal duty
  • The plan gives concrete, realistic changes and a way to re-check them

You pass with at least 3 of the 4 criteria met (60%). You can improve and resubmit at any time.
